Economic networks

The last generation of sects, adapted to the current crisis, uses financial opportunities – a powerful theme to encourage recruitment, which also allows the creation of new branches. For example, Scientology extends its networks to all areas of economic life, without modifying its main structure. WISE network (World Institute of Scientology Enterprises) deals with marketing. Founded in 1979 of the year is the 'management organization, whose purpose is to do so, so that Ron Hubbard's administrative technology would be spread widely on many levels and could be used in the world of business ".

WISE is thus a branch of a sect serving the economic spread of the activities of this group. It covers all hierarchical levels of seentologists and is controlled by the authority, which issues licenses to individual stakeholders or communities to use a Hubbard "prescription". Network services include management advice, organization of seminars, courses and workshops. Typical contracts between WISE and users of Hubbard technologies mention the payment of copyright receivables, which can be as high as 16% fee received by members.

The sects have specialized in the production and sale of various products. For example, the sale of incense has been a valuable source of income for the Krishna Light for many years, and ginseng was an important product, traded by the Moon sect.

GEPM (European Association of Marketing Professionals), European Union of Marketing Professionals, created in 1988 year by Jean Godzich for several years enjoyed great popularity, before it was dissolved in France and accused of using illicit methods. The union claimed to be the spokesman for the freedom of individual establishment of enterprises. In fact, it was a pyramid system, consisting of multi-level sales. Unlike the classic sects, in which economic matters come second after ideology, Ferry union! creating a sales network, whose purpose was to enrich its members'11. Although the leaders of the Union said, that they do not form a chain of sales pyramids, consumer associations have proved to them activities having little to do with trade. Doug Wead, GEPM advisor cooperating with Cudzich, former adviser to George Bush, he is also the pastor of God's First Congregation in Phoenix (Arizona), in which Leo Godzich works, Jean's brother. Such practices, like the informal compulsion to convert and be baptized in God's First Congregation, "Dream weekends", during which sermons are intertwined with public confession, they seem to point to it, that more sectarian indoctrination prevails there than marketing activities.

FARE organizations (European Network Purchasing Federation – Federation for Purchase of European Networks), which was created after the dissolution of GEPM, it never achieved the operating level of its predecessor. The GEPM solution and the failure of FARE allowed a variety of organizations built to the same pattern to operate, that rise and fall as they go, how they are accused of illegal practices. They are all organized like a pyramid. They recommend buying by an adept (at his expense) stock of goods, which he will have to resell using methods modeled on those of the group. The organizers benefit from this system: the possibility of returning unsold stock of goods is not taken into account, apprenticeships in the sales or marketing department are paid, debt repayment is possible only thanks to a loan at usury interest offered by financial networks of "partners". Because of the "raids" carried out by the police and the judiciary (after being accused of fraud), by the labor inspection (failure to make remuneration statements), by tax services (failure to pay VAT) these groups have learned to move quickly. W 2000 year, the pyramid bearing the beautiful name of Goldfinger was dissolved, which operated in France, but it hid its management in Italy.

The guru is the central figure in all these activities. Regardless of the doctrines and methods, a sect needs leaders, around which they organize and who serve as guides for them to attain their illusory ideals. Gurus are people, who enliven groups with their enthusiasm and define their actions.
