The priest prepares the dormitory, in which he puts the vessel with the oil of the sick, corporal and custody of the Host. It also takes the ritual. The priest dresses in a surplice, stułę i biret. He goes to the sick person privately or in public. When he goes in public, the minister gives the sign with the bell and carries the light. People kneel and adore the Lord Jesus.
At sick home
The patient's apartment should be clean. Upon arrival, the priest blesses them, that it may become a worthy abode for the sacraments : fines, the anointing of the sick and the Eucharist. The table should be covered with a white cloth, on it it is necessary to put a cross, two lit candles, holy water, sprinkler, cotton wool, a slice of bread, a glass of water and a tablespoon.
Blessing the apartment
After arriving at the sick person, the priest sprinkles the sick person with holy water, flat and present. Invoking God's help, she pleads with our Lord Jesus Christ, "That he might bless this house and all its inhabitants abundantly and give them a guardian angel". In another prayer, he says : "Let the persistent evil spirits run away from here, and the angels of peace will come, and let all malicious disagreement withdraw from this house ". He also prays for this, for God to bless his ministry.
Confession of St..
If the sick person can confess, everyone goes out and the priest hears his confession.
After confession, he is sick, and with him all those present recite general confession, the priest absolves the sick and calls those present, to pray for the sick, as they pray together in the Eucharistic assembly.
Then the priest stretches his right hand over the head of the sick person and prays. In the name of the Holy Trinity, it demands, that all power of Satan may depart from the sick person, and calls for help of the Holy. Virgin Mary, st. Joseph, holy angels and all saints. Then he anoints the sick with oil, making the sign of the cross. This sign of the cross recalls the link between the anointing of the sick and the saving work of Christ. At the same time, he utters the words appointed by the Church. Closing prayers follow. The priest prays there for the health of the body and soul for the sick. In one of these prayers he says : “We ask you then, Our redeemer, Heal that sick person's weakness with the grace of the Holy Spirit, heal his wounds, forgive him his sins and take all suffering away from him. Kindly restore to him full health of soul and body, that by your mercy he may be healed, gained strength to fulfill his duties ". After reciting these prayers, the priest blesses the sick person. He says : "Blessing of Almighty God, Father and Son, and the Holy Spirit, let it descend upon you and remain forever ".
After the anointing, the sick person receives the Eucharist (Communion), food for the way of eternity, i.e. the so-called. viaticum.
Finally, the priest gives the sick person an apostolic blessing with a plenary indulgence at the hour of death.
