JOYFUL MYSTERIES

JOYFUL MYSTERIES

I. Annunciation to the Virgin Mary

Mary expresses her full consent with her thoughts and heart to the mysterious will of God and is ready to accept, first by faith, and then in his virgin womb, The Son of God. "It simply came to our notice then!”. (…) Mary encourages us, that we may believe in the fulfillment of God's promises. He's calling us, that we may have a spirit of humility, the right inner attitude of creation towards the Creator. He encourages us, that we may have secure hope in Christ, who fully realizes the plan of salvation even then, when events seem dark and hard to accept.

II. Visitation of St.. Elizabeth

The meeting with Elizabeth is a joyful saving event, so it is not just a spontaneous expression of kindness, what Mary shows to her relative. To the house of Zechariah, who lost his speech ashamed of his own unbelief, Mary unexpectedly brings all the joy of her faith open and ready to serve. Visiting St.. Elizabeth, As it were, Mary announces the mission of Jesus, and by cooperating from the very beginning of his motherhood with the redemptive work of the Son, he becomes the model of these members of the Church, who go on the road, to bring the light and joy of Christ to people of all countries and of all times.

III. Nativity of Jesus

An oppressed and suffering nation, who walked in the dark, "great light" appeared. (…) If the first creation began with the creation of light, it shines all the more with brilliance and there is great light, which gives rise to a new creation: it is God himself, who became man. The news of the birth of the Son of God is comforting, and at the same time it makes demands. Faith makes us feel, that God surrounds us with His tender love, and at the same time it obliges us to the active love of God and our brothers and sisters.

IV. Presentation of the Lord Jesus in the temple

"Now, Lord, let your servant go in peace, according to your word. For my eyes have seen your salvation, which you have prepared in the presence of all nations: a light for revelation to the Gentiles and glory to your people, Israel ". (…) Christ is the light of human life. It is light, because he scatters his darkness. It is light, because it illuminates its secrets. Because it answers both basic and final questions at the same time. It is light, because it gives meaning to life. It is light, because it convinces man of his great dignity.

V. Finding the Lord Jesus

When, after searching for three days, they found Jesus in the temple among the teachers, Mary reproaches him gently: "Son, why have you done this to us??”. God's purposes are often difficult to understand, require consent, faith and humility. Mary is a model of man for us, who, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, it receives and keeps it in the heart - like good seed (by. Mt 13, 23) - the words of revelation, he tries to understand them as best as possible, to penetrate deeply into the mystery of Christ.
